Escriben Carol y Peyo…
We continue working in Viveros and Bunkers, three bunkers were cleaning. That was done by the two Pedros. They were so focused in work that they didn’t realise it was the break time, and they could not eat the delicious sandwiches made by Andrea and Chema. The first step of the dry stone walls is finished; it took a lot of time and patience. Some people started to cut the trees in the forest above the terrasses. There are three bunkers left, and they should be finished in two or three days maximum.
For lunch we had paella and codfish. Then, the famous siesta; some slept and others were singing and playing the guitar.
During afternoon, Jorjón told us many stories about Canfranc. It was an important place for those who wanted to cross the border, since the romans were here. It was growing with the castle and people freed in exchange of living here. The village was destroyed by the flames and instead of being rebuilt by Franco, people moved to Canfranc Estación.
Canfranc Estación
Canfranc Estación is a railway complex built to link Spain and Portugal to the rest of Europe. It was used to store food. It was a challenge to build because of the snow, river and the avalanches. Canfranc had a French part and a Spanish one, people of both countries lived there. It stopped to work because of an accident that happened in 70´s.
Nowadays, we can find a laboratory of atomic and physics where scientists from all over the world come.
During the dinner, Pedro had to do the “Pinza” Challenge, which consisted in dancing “La Macarena” on one of the banks. He did it so well, everyone was satisfied! For dinner we ate soap and pizza, yogurt for desert. Some went to have a shower, others played football, or there was people who stayed in the place and talked about the day. At ten o´clock more or less the group met and sang songs while Pedro played the guitar. Meanwhile others played at Trivial.
